Producer Info: Champagne Akileire is a young, family-run estate rooted in Chézy-sur-Marne, where Benoît and his children, Camille and Timothé, bring together three distinct personalities and a shared passion for the vine. A lifelong winegrower, Benoît serves as a thoughtful mentor to his children, passing down his knowledge of the vineyards and winemaking. Camille works alongside her father in the cellar, bringing a fresh perspective shaped by experience in other French wine regions, while Timothé combines his love of vines and mechanics with his adventurous spirit. Their home in Chézy-sur-Marne sits between two hillsides divided by the Dolloir, a tributary of the Marne, creating a diverse terroir of varied soils and exposures. The family does everything themselves, from vineyard to cellar, following a sustainable approach certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (SVC), with no insecticides and carefully managed grass cover and tillage. In the cellar, they combine oak barrels with stainless-steel vats to reveal the character of their terroir. Wood is a signature of the Akileire style, bringing texture, finesse, and a subtle velvety quality that allows the unique character of Chézy-sur-Marne to shine through.
