Cocktail Time!

We all know I'm a huge fan of sparkling wine, I'm also a huge fan of cocktails, and when you put them together...I mean, what could be better!?!? I think a festive adult beverage is the perfect way to kick off a holiday party. One of my faves below....

Blood Orange Holiday Spritzer

3 oz dry sparkling wine
1 oz vodka
2 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice
1/2 oz rosemary infused simple syrup (recipe below)
Ice
Sprig of rosemary & blood orange wedge to garnish

Fill a cocktail glass with ice and pour in sparkling wine. Pour vodka, blood orange juice, and rosemary syrup into a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake. Shake. Shake. Pour into the cocktail glass and gently stir. Add additional simple syrup to taste for added sweetness, if desired. Garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary and blood orange wedge.

*To make rosemary simple syrup:
Carefully rinse 6 sprigs of rosemary. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 3/4 cup of sugar and whisk into the boiling water. Continue whisking till sugar is dissolved. Add rosemary to the syrup. Let it boil for 60 second. Remove from heat and let the herbs steep for about 30 minutes as the syrup cools. Use a slotted spoon or mesh strainer to remove the herbs from the syrup.
